Delwar Hossain Sayedee, who was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity, was brought before a special judges court in Dhaka on Monday in an embezzlement and tax evasion case.
Sayedee appeared before a special court of judges at the Alia Madrasa grounds in Old Dhaka around 9:30 am. At that moment, the police took a cautious position around the courtroom.

After hearing the embezzlement case, the court granted the request and set December 26 as the next day.
Rafiq Uddin, the state attorney, appealed for time as the witness in the income tax evasion case did not appear in court. The court set January 7 as the next day to take time to testify.
Delwar Hossain Sayedee is the sole defendant in the income tax evasion case. 6 defendants, including Sayedee in money laundering case. Sayedee was arrested on June 29, 2010 on charges of insulting religious sentiments. He was subsequently arrested on August 2, accused of crimes against humanity.
In this case, the Appeals Division sentenced Delwar Hossain Sayedee to death on February 17, 2016.
