Saifur fled to India after shaving his beard

Saifur Rahman, the main defendant in the case brought in connection with the gang rape at MC College in Sylhet, was fleeing to India after shaving and changing his appearance, police said.

The student leader was arrested at Noarai Kheyaghat in the Chhatak upazila border area in Sunamganj around 8 am on Sunday.

According to the police, the defendant Saifur wanted to flee to India through the Doarabazar border in Sunamganj. So in the morning he went to the Surma River Ferry in Chhatak Noarai area. With the help of technology, his location was confirmed and he was arrested from there.

Billal Hossain, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) for Chhatak Circle, said Saifur had a beard in the image found. But after shaving his beard and putting on a mask, he went to the ferry. Arrival in the border area in the morning. It is being investigated if someone helped him escape.

Sunamganj Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman said that after the location of the defendant Saifur Rahman towards the border area was confirmed with the help of technology, the police arrested him from the Noarai ferry.

Note that last Friday (September 25) night, a couple went to visit MC College. There, an organized group of 5-6 people arrested the husband and raped his wife.
