Saiful used to show his face heroically by keeping his beard from a hobby, he cut off his beard and tricked him into leaving the area. On the other hand, another ‘hero’, Arjun Lashkar, fled to a remote area of Habiganj in search of crossing the border into India. However, the police arrested them by pouring sand on their hopes.
According to Sylhet police sources, Saifur Rahman, the main defendant in the rape and weapons case, tried to change his appearance by cutting his beard to avoid arrest. However, he was not saved. The police arrested him on Sunday morning (September 26) on the secret information base in Kheyaghat, a border area below the Chhatak Police Station in Sunamganj District.
The arrested Saifur Rahman is the son of Tahid Miah from Chandaipara village in Laganj. He was handed over to the Shahparan police after being questioned by senior police officials.
A police officer involved in the investigation said Saifur cut off his beard to avoid arrest. He tried to flee to India by the border route. After the arrest, Saifur gave a detailed account of the incident to the police.
According to several MC College students, Saifur has taken the MC College English department masters exam. Due to their teasing and harassment on the eve, many MC College girls moved to other colleges. Even Saifur and her associates at the university have been extorting money by holding ordinary students hostage.
HabiganjRepresentative Arjun Laskar, one of the defendants in the gang rape of a housewife in the MC College dormitory, was arrested in a town near the Madhabpur border in Habiganj on his way to India.
