Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Second Court Judge on Monday. The court granted his request for pretrial detention, said Deputy Police Commissioner Amulya Kumar Chowdhury.

On Saturday morning, the husband of the housewife filed a case against nine people at the Shahparan Police Station with Chhatra League activist Saifur Rahman as the main defendant.
The defendants in the case are MC College BCL activist Saifur Rahman, Shah Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Mahfuzur Rahman Mashum, Arjun Laskar and foreign BCL activists Rabiul and Tareq Ahmed.
Shahpara Police Station OC Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, said, the main defendant in the Saifur Rahman case, Shah. Four people, including Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Arjun Laskar and Rabiul Islam, have been arrested.
In addition, the RAB has arrested two people named Rajan Ahmed and Ainul as suspects.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner Jyotirmoy Sarkar told bdnews24.com: “The bride came to visit MC College with her husband. At one point, her husband walked out the door of the university to smoke a cigarette.
“At that time, 6 to 7 young men took the girl by force and raped her in the dormitory area of MC College.”
She was beaten when her husband protested, the police officer said.

Upon receiving the news, the police admitted the girl to the One Stop Crisis Center of the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital around 10:30 pm.
