Today was the day set for the presentation of the investigation report of the case. But the RAB did not submit the report. Therefore, the court set a new day.

On February 11, 2012, Sagar Sarwar, news editor of Maasranga Television, and Meherun Nahar aka Meherun Runi, senior reporter for ATN Bangla, were killed at their home in West Rajabazar, the capital.

After the shocking murder, Rooney’s brother, Nowsher Alam Roman, brought a murder case to the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in the capital. Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police first investigated the case. The case was turned over to the Metropolitan Police of Detectives (DB) after an investigation, as no mystery could be revealed in four days. DB police investigated for more than two months. But they also failed to unravel the mystery.

Subsequently, on April 17, 2012, the RAB took over the investigation under the direction of the Superior Court. No agency has been able to present an investigative report in more than eight years. Even the mystery of this murder could not be revealed.
