Dhaka: Russia wants to know the vaccine production capacity of Bangladesh, said Health Minister Zahid Malek. At that time, he said, few companies in the country had that capacity.

At the same time, a letter about the Russian vaccine is sent to them, the Health Minister said.

He was answering a question from journalists in the health ministry’s conference room at the secretariat on Monday (August 31).

The health minister said: “I have received the promise to receive the Oxford vaccine in Bangladesh.” Beximco has an agreement with the Seram Institute of India. The government is also trying to bring. However, no country or organization other than China has so far requested the vaccine trial in Bangladesh, he said.

“We are sending letters to Russia, and the Russian ambassador has also spoken about the vaccine,” he said. Arrangements are being made to deliver the letter to the Russian Minister of Health through the embassy.

When asked by reporters if Russia had any ideas about the vaccine, he said Russia wanted to make GTZ, saying that if Bangladesh had the facility to make the vaccine, they could also allow it to be made in the country.

Several companies in Bangladesh have the capacity to manufacture vaccines, Zahid Malek said.

When asked if the Oxford vaccine would be tested in the country, he said: “They have not said it yet. We are waiting to know what Oxford has to say. Bangladesh needs to know more details.”

When asked if any organization or country other than Oxford has promised to vaccinate, the Health Minister said that so far no request has been received from any other country wanting to get tested.

Zahid Malek said that Korea wants to share its experience with us. They have successfully infected the corona virus. But again his infection has been seen on a large scale. They have sent a letter saying that they will provide various PCR machines and kits. The antigen test that the government approved a few days ago will help with the antigen test and give us $ 7 million worth of kits. That will reach our hands in a few days. We have started the process of bringing antigen kits. The test will begin as soon as Korea receives the kits. They also said that antibodies are not tested in Korea.
