A Russian fighter jet has intercepted two US B-52 strategic bombers in the skies over the Baltic Sea. Two American bombers were approaching Russian airspace. The Russian Defense Ministry has released the news.
The National Defense Management Center of the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday that a Sukhoi SU-27 fighter jet was dispatched to intercept the two US bombers after identifying them. The Russian fighter jets were sent from the Baltic fleet. The plane ordered the two American planes not to fly into Russian airspace from a safe distance and at one point escorted the two American bombers away.
The Russian news agency Tass published the information. That said, American planes couldn’t violate Russian airspace. The Russian fighter plane repelled the American plane and returned to base safely.
