US presidential candidate Joe Biden has called Russia the greatest threat to US national security. Criticizing Biden’s comments, Moscow said Monday that Biden’s comments were wrong and incited hatred against Russia.
The United States presidential elections will be held on November 3. A week earlier, Biden, President Donald Trump’s election rival, had voiced his views on Russia. Democrat Biden is ahead of Republican Trump in opinion polls.
On Sunday, Biden attended a CBS show called “Sixty Minutes.” There, he named Russia, saying the country was the biggest threat to Washington. Another powerful country, China, is the biggest competitor, he said.
Yet many in the Trump administration view China as the greatest threat to America’s national security.
At a press conference on Monday, reporters questioned Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov about Biden’s assessment of Russia. In response, Peskov said: “We totally disagree with his comments. We regret that hatred towards the Russian Federation is thus spreading.”
