Bangladesh was forced to plan the relocation of one lakh of Rohingya to Bhasanchar due to numerous problems after providing temporary shelter to oppressed Rohingya in Myanmar.
According to the plan, 1,642 Rohingya were brought from Cox’s Bazar to Bhasanchar in the first phase on December 4 and 1,604 in the second phase on December 29.
Bangladesh has asked the United Nations to send a security and technical assessment team to Myanmar to assess the current situation of the Rohingya and inspect preparations for repatriation.
