Roads in the capital Dhaka protest the torture of a housewife by stripping her in Noakhali and the gang rape of a girlfriend at MC College in Sylhet. Demonstrations have been held in various areas, including Shahbag and Uttara, demanding punishment for rapists. In addition, various programs are being held in different parts of the country.

In Noakhali, a group of students and individuals blocked the Shahbagh crossing demanding justice for the rape and oppression of housewives across the country.

At 11 am today, at the convocation of Bangladesh Chhatra Adhikar Parishad and Pragatisheel Chhatra Jote, a public placement program was convened in front of the National Shahbagh Museum. When students and people participated spontaneously, they moved away from the front of the museum and blocked the Shahbagh crossing and chanted slogans.

Former Vice President (VP) of the Central Student Parliament of Dhaka University (Daksu), Nurul Haque Nur, spoke on the occasion. Warning the government, he said: “If you side with the corrupt looters, you will be fired with a mass movement.”

Furthermore, he said that today the Awami League has been in power in an undemocratic way for a long time and as a result, evildoers have been created in all sectors and all state institutions. The Chhatra League raped, the Juba League raped, the Awami League smuggled money. I will tell my friends that the government of looters and rapists is in power today because of our weakness.

Vice President Noor said: “Our backs are against the wall, now we need a united fight.”

Students protest at the foot of the Raju anti-terrorism sculpture at Dhaka University with the same demand.

Meanwhile, students are protesting in Uttara demanding justice for the rapists in the Noakhali and Sylhet incidents. They blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh road at the apartment building’s road junction on Monday afternoon. At that time, the students chanted the slogan ‘We want justice’.

Meanwhile, due to the movement of ordinary students, the traffic on both sides of the road has slowed down. This has created a traffic jam in an area of about 10 km.

Recently, several incidents of rape and torture have caused commotion across the country. The video of a naked and tortured woman in Noakhali’s Begumganj went viral on Sunday. Thirty-two days after the incident, the tortured housewife filed a case accusing nine people at one o’clock yesterday afternoon. Four of them, including the main defendant Badal, have been arrested.
