The condition of BNP deputy general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is critical, said party vice president Prof. AZM Zahid Hossain.
The former leader of the Doctors Association (DAB) told reporters Tuesday afternoon: “He has had a heart attack. Now his condition is critical, nothing can be said. It has been kept under close observation. The medical board will sit down to review the most recent status of your treatment.
He fell ill after a program in front of the National Press Club on Tuesday afternoon. Later he was taken inside the National Press Club. When he felt pain in his chest, he was rushed to Islami Bank Hospital in Kakrail. After initial treatment, he was transferred to Labaid Hospital in the capital.
He is currently a doctor there. He is in treatment at CCU under APM Sohrabuzzaman.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to Hapatal to see him on Tuesday afternoon. He asked the doctors about his treatment.
The general secretary also spoke with Rizvi’s wife, Anjuman Ara Begum.
