DB Inspector Abdul Haque, the investigating officer on the case, presented the charge sheet to the court on Thursday. According to the charge sheet, Riya, a tutor, accused Renu of kidnapping. She is a maid by profession. After that, the accused beat him to death.
The defendants on the charge sheet are: Ibrahim alias Huday Mollah, Riya Begum Moyna, Abul Kalam Azad, Kamal Hossain, Shahin, Bachchu Mia, Bappi, Murad Mia, Sohail Rana, Asadul Islam, Bellal Mollah, Raju and Mohin Uddin . Among them, Mohin Uddin is on the run. Zafar Hossain Patwari and Wasim Ahmed have been charged as minors.
Alif, Maruf, Sumon and Aklima – The investigating officer has requested their release as no charges have been brought against them. Among the defendants, Wasim, Huday and Riya Begum, a domestic worker, have made confessional statements in court. Among them, the higher court granted bail to Riya Begum, Bachchu Mia, Shaheen, Murad and Bappi.

The deceased were identified as 11-year-old Taslima Begum Renu, mother of Tasin Al Mahir and her four-year-old daughter Tasmin Tuba. She was moving from one school to another so that Tuba would enter the school. On July 20, 2019, around 9 a.m., Taslima Begum Renu went to the North-East Badda government primary school to inquire about her son’s admission. At the time, the construction of the Padma Bridge was rumored to take place across the country. Suddenly, on the ground floor of the school, the mothers surrounded Renu and started shouting that he was a boy. Later, a school teacher and an office assistant took Renu to Principal Shahnaz Begum’s room.
At that moment, a guardian named Riya yelled, ‘Apa, that woman is kidnapped. Give it to us. They later tried to kill Renu Begum there. The director locked Rea in a two-story room. After receiving this news, many people, including Riya, informed some people about the matter on their mobile phones. Hundreds of people enter the school in four to five minutes. At that moment, fifty people broke the lock on the door of that second floor room. After entering the room, Riya and other guards dragged Renu from the second floor room.
According to the charge sheet, Renu was thrown to the paved floor inside the school, killing, hitting and kicking him. Later, when he picked up Renu and went a little further, the men attacked him with sticks. Then Renu Begum shouted: ‘I don’t have Miren. I’m not a child. Hearing this, a man named Huday started hitting him with an iron bar. Some keep kicking. After hitting continuously for about 15 to 20 minutes, the woman fell asleep.
By the way, Riya lives in Badda and works as a maid in the area. Her husband, Sagar Hossain Robin, is a bricklayer by profession. Her home in the village is in Gazipur. Rear, a six-year-old boy named Junaid, is in first grade at that school.
