Riva Ganguly Das joined after Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Sringla left Dhaka. He joined the Indian Mission in Dhaka on March 1 last year as High Commissioner. However, Riva Ganguly was not new to Dhaka. He has served in Dhaka before. He was very familiar with the culture and history of Bangladesh. This made it much easier for him to carry out his duties in Dhaka.

While in office in Dhaka, Riva Ganguly has taken the golden relationship between the two countries to new heights. Dr. Rivera joined as Minister of Foreign Affairs of India in May while on duty in Dhaka. S. Jayashankar. He visited Bangladesh in early September. This was Jayashankar’s first overseas trip as Foreign Minister. Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Sringla visited Dhaka on August 16 this year, the last day of Riva Ganguly’s tenure.

The Bangladesh-India Joint Consultative Meeting (JCC) was held two days before his departure from Dhaka. Although the JCC meeting has been pending for a long time, this very important meeting between the two countries took place before their departure. At that meeting, 28 joint statements were made between the two countries. And he has played an important role in the organization of this meeting.

Riva Ganguly knows the Bengali language. That is why she has been able to easily reach the people of Bangladesh. Before leaving Dhaka, she said in an exchange of views with journalists: “I came to Bangladesh in March last year. When someone comes here, it becomes a deep relationship. The friendship and hospitality that we receive with Bangladesh when we come here, we do not get anywhere else in the world. It is incomparable. I will miss you ‘

Outgoing High Commissioner Reva Ganguly has addressed the situation in Corona. Although movement was limited during the Corona period, the webinar was noisy. She has done several webinar programs. In addition, it has been able to repatriate Indian nationals stranded in Bangladesh during the Crown period.

During Riva Ganguly’s reign, parcel trains first arrived in Bangladesh from India. At that time, 364 tons of dried chili peppers arrived in Bangladesh by train from Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, for the first time, Indian products passed from Calcutta to Assam and Tripura through the port of Chittagong. It was a milestone in communication between Bangladesh and India.

Outgoing High Commissioner Reva Ganguly Das will join as Secretary of the Eastern Division of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You join from here with many more important responsibilities. Prior to her arrival in Dhaka, Riva Ganguly Das was General Director of the Council for International Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vikram Doraiswamy arrives in Dhaka:
The new High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh, Vikram Doraiswamy, will arrive in Dhaka after the departure of Riva Ganguly. Vikram Doraiswamy has already been announced as High Commissioner of India in Dhaka. It is expected to arrive in Dhaka on October 5.
