The body of an unidentified woman has been recovered along the Phulbari Regional Highway in Rangpur’s Mithapukur-Dinajpur. On Tuesday (October 6) morning, the locals saw the body lying in the woods on the side of the road and reported it to the police. The Madhyapara Police Outpost recovered the body of Panchpukuria from the Harirampur union from the adjoining Parbatipur upazila in the Ghunurghat area of the Lohanipara union from Badarganj upazila.
Locals said the body of the 25 to 26-year-old woman lay in the woods on the side of the road this morning. Signs of numerous injuries were found on the face. According to the locals, the body was left at the site after the criminals killed it elsewhere. Hundreds of people gathered there in the morning to see the bodies lying.
According to the locals, the woman wore a salwar-kameez. The right arm and one leg were tied around the neck with a veil. The perpetrators broke their teeth. This suggests that in a fit of rage, the criminals may have left the body after being brutally murdered.
Sirajul Islam, in charge of the Madhyapara Police Post in Parbatipur, said the body was recovered and sent to the morgue of the Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Harirampur Union Parishad president Masudur Rahman Shah said the body could not be identified. The criminals are believed to have left the body in a car and fled after killing it somewhere far away.
