Early Thursday morning, Ayesha Siddique Minni, wife of the murdered Shahneyaz Rifat Sharif, was sent to the Kashimpur central prison under strict security measures.
In this regard, said the caretaker of the Barguna District Jail (Super Jail). Anwar Hossain said that there was no adequate arrangement to keep those sentenced to death in the Barguna district jail. For this reason, in accordance with the decision of the higher authorities, those sentenced to death in the Rifat Sharif murder case have been sent from the Barguna District Prison to the Barisal Central Prison.
The Barguna District and Sessions Court of Judges rendered the verdict of 10 accused adults in the Rifat Sharif murder case discussed on September 30. The court also ordered the execution of six defendants, including Rifat Sharif’s wife, Ayesha Siddique Minni.
One of the main defendants in the case, Nayan Bond, was killed in a shooting. Furthermore, of the 24 accused, 18 were convicted but the remaining 6 were acquitted.
Six convicts have been housed in the condom cell of the Barguna District Jail since the verdict.
