A case has been brought against a father and son for allegedly raping a young girl for nine months in Eklashpur of Begumganj upazila of Noakhali.
Retired Sergeant Sirajul Islam, 65, is the main defendant in the case.
The victim filed a case at the Begumganj police station around 3pm on Thursday. The other defendant in the case is Mahbubur Rahman, 35, the son of Sirajul Islam.
According to the complaint and police sources, Retired Sergeant Sirajul Islam, son of the late Mohammad Ullah, a resident of Amanatpur Mahalla, District 4, Chaumuhoni Township, Begumganj Upazila, has been living in Noakhali and Dhaka for 8 or 9 months. Raped more than once.
After a long time, Sirajul Islam did not give the girl a job or marry her. When pressured to marry, Sirajul Islam began to make excuses. At one point, Mahbubur Rahman, the son of rapist Sirajul Islam, threatened and took an unwritten stamp from the girl.
Model Begumganj Police Station OC Kamruzzaman Sikder said retired Sgt Sirajul Islam had been raping the girl for the past 8 or 9 months to seduce her into a job and marriage. Mahbubur Rahman, son of Sirajul Islam, unethically took an unwritten stamp from the girl. Sirajul, the main defendant in the case, was arrested in the afternoon after receiving a complaint from the girl. An attempt is also being made to arrest his son Mahbubur Rahman.
