Reneca was chosen from many in Bangladesh, Norway and Myanmar as part of the International Day of the Girl celebrations, Grameenphone said in a press release on Monday.

Each year on this day, young women are given a symbolic day of responsibility in leadership positions in global media, entertainment, business and politics to promote equality, freedom and representation.

This year, young women have been offered the opportunity to play a key role in the executive leadership of the Telenor group in three countries. Among them, Reneca was selected for the executive position of Telenor Group.

According to a statement from Grameenphone, Reneca has been working on women’s rights and gender equality from a young age. In 2020, as a Youth Defender, he participated in top-level political forums. Reneca, who studied anthropology, has been actively working to bring about positive change in the society of girls, young women and women.

Reneca said: “As a woman and a conscientious citizen, I want to exercise my rights in a safe and secure environment. Everyone must respect women and value their contributions in the public and private sectors.

“I want to work as a young representative in society and transfer power in the field of gender equality globally. I thank Grameenphone, Telenor Group and Plan International Bangladesh for giving me the opportunity to have such an extraordinary experience. “

The three young women, selected as members of the Telenor Group Executive Directorate, presented their thoughts on women in the virtual world through technology. In her presentation, various opportunities and obstacles emerged for women in the field of technology locally and internationally.

Inspired by this, Telenor Group President and CEO Sigve Breke promised to connect the three young women with Telenor Telecommunications CEOs in their home country so that the young representatives could share their thoughts.

“We work tirelessly to develop the services we need,” said Sigve Breke. To be successful at this, we need to know the ideas of everyone within us. This morning I spoke with three young women.

“I have tried to understand the scope of thinking about technology in your country and globally. Many positive things have emerged in discussions with them. It is clear from this discussion that we must do more to address the problems that hinder the integration of talented people in the technology sector. ”

Grameenphone and Telenor Group have jointly organized a ‘Girls Takeover’ campaign with Plan International Bangladesh. The Global Alliance was launched in 2016 to work for a wide range of digital and mobile technology solutions to protect the rights of children and youth by prioritizing the equality of young women.
