Dhaka: Nur Nazma Akhter Lupa Talukder, 42, arrested in connection with the abduction of 9-year-old flower seller Zinnia, from the TSC area of Dhaka University (DU), was sent to jail by a court.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury denied his request for bail on Friday (September 11).
Lupa, who was arrested on child abduction charges, was involved in various nefarious criminal activities under the guise of a political figure and journalist. He has been charged with embezzlement through blackmail and various types of fraud, including drugs. Not only that, he used to take pictures with prominent people, including political leaders, on various occasions. Investigators also said he used them to commit various criminal acts by being influential.

On September 6, another court granted Lupa a two-day preventive detention. At the end of his pre-trial detention, he was presented in court on Friday and asked to remain in jail until the end of the investigation of the case. Shahjahan Mia.
On the other hand, the defendant’s lawyer requested bail. At the end of the hearing, the judge rejected his request for bail and ordered that he be sent to jail.
The police requested his pre-trial detention for seven days for a proper investigation of the case brought to the Shahbagh police station in connection with the kidnapping on 8 September. At the end of the hearing, the Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khair Jesse granted him a two-day preventive detention. Zinnia, on the other hand, was handed over to her mother by Metropolitan Magistrate Elias Mia.
On September 6, the Ramna Division of the Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) rescued Zinnia in a raid in the Amtala area of the Fatulla Police Station in Narayanganj.
