The country’s Health Ministry said on Thursday that 96,794 people had been infected with the deadly coronavirus in 24 hours.
According to Reuters, India is the second most infected country by coronavirus after the United States with more than 51.20 million identified patients. The number of identified patients in the United States has exceeded 7 lakh 30 thousand.
Since the start of the epidemic, the number of patients identified in these two countries alone has surpassed the tragic milestone of 5 million.
For more than a month, India has recognized the largest number of patients in the world every day. More than a thousand patient deaths are recorded every day for two consecutive weeks. The number of deaths is increasing day by day.
In the past 24 hours, 1,132 people have died from Covid-19, the Indian Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
The coronavirus killed 63,196 people in the country. Coronavirus deaths in India are lower than in Brazil and the United States alone.
The United States tops the list with 1.96,602 deaths, followed by Brazil with 1.34,106 deaths.
