At the board meeting it was recommended to send a proposal to the ministry to extend the mandate of Engineer Taksim A Khan as Managing Director of Dhaka WASA for another three years.
The recommendation was made at a board meeting held on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 19), board sources said.
“We have not received the board’s proposal yet,” Helaluddin Ahmed, senior secretary of the local government department, told Jago News. If the proposal is received, action will be taken.
Earlier on Thursday (September 18), a notice signed by Dhaka WASA Secretary Engineer Sharmin Haque Amir read: ‘The 97th special meeting (online meeting) of the Dhaka WASA Board will be held on 19 September (Saturday) at 5 pm. Board members have been asked to attend the meeting.
According to the meeting agenda, the proposal to appoint engineer Taksim A Khan as the general manager of Dhaka WASA for three years was sent to the Department of Local Government.
