Molina Bewa, wife of the identified Razakar Khorshed Ali Fakir from Khihali Chakpara village in the Gobindpur junction of Dupchanchia upazila of Bogra, has a disaster tolerant house provided by the government. This has created a negative reaction among the people in favor of the liberation war. A heroic freedom fighter named Abdus Salam has also submitted a written request to the deputy commissioner seeking redress for the incident.

Belal Hossain, member and chair of the Gobindpur Union District 5 project, claimed that Khorshed Ali Fakir was a self-identified Razakar. At the end of the war, the freedom fighters killed him. Molina Bewa, the Razakar’s wife, was listed by a government house. Razakar’s family is also self-sufficient and still has four dirt bighas in their field and one bigha in their home.

That’s why he didn’t sign it for about a month. Subsequently, the people in the administration and the president of their union, SM Helal, were forced to sign under pressure.

Meanwhile, Abdus Salam, a resident of the same village, said: “There are many poor people in our village.” But Molina Bewa, Razakar Khorshed Ali Fakir’s wife, officially received a home. People in favor of liberation, myself included, are sad about this and angry. He requested that legal action be taken against those responsible for the investigation.

According to the locals, the Khudur family of Razakar Khorshed Ali Fakir is self-sufficient. They have obtained information on the property and have secured government offices through great pressure. Currently a boundary wall is being built with bricks to cover the house.

The president of the Gobindpur Union, SM Helal Monwar, said that he was born after independence. So he doesn’t know if he was a Razakar or not. He also did not make the list and did not pressure anyone to do so.

Ashraful Arefin, Upazila Project Implementation Officer, said 17 disaster-tolerant houses were provided in upazila in the last financial year 2019-20. It is not known whether Molina Bewar’s husband was anti-independent in 1971. His family was given a house because he ran as poor.

Upazila Nirbahi (UNO) officer SM Zakir Hossain said he did not know anything about Molina Bewar’s husband. Seeing the current situation, he has been given a house as poor.

The district relief and rehabilitation officer, Azahar Ali Mandal, said that the self-sufficient Razakar family could not get a government house. It will take action against the accused if it receives a written complaint.
