From now on, the government will have to pay a fee to enter the Ratargul area, capture video and travel by boat. The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change has recently issued a notification fixing the rate.
According to the notification, the entrance fee for adults entering the Ratargul Biodiversity Special Conservation Area is 50 tk, while the fee for minors is 25 tk. The admission fee for students with an identity card is 25 rupees. And the entry fee for foreigners is 500 rupees.
Also, you have to pay a ‘filming fee’ of Tk 10,000 to record the filming video. It is a camera fee for each day.
On the other hand, domestic visitors must pay Rs 100 each time they travel by boat (without motor). And foreigners have to pay one thousand rupees.
Also, the bus or truck parking fee is 200 rupees. The parking fee for pickup / jeep / car / minibus is 100 rupees and the CNG / motorcycle parking fee is 25 rupees.
Ratargul Swamp Forest is the only freshwater forest and wildlife sanctuary in Bangladesh. Found in Gowainghat in Sylhet. Of these, 504 acres of forest were declared wildlife sanctuaries in 1983. This forest has been conserved under the Forest Department of the Government of Bangladesh.
