In Ishwarganj in Mymensingh, a young man has been accused of raping a ninth-grade student (18) for explaining a school assignment.
The girl’s father filed a complaint against Mahmudullah, 19, the son of Abdul Mannas from Bulsoma village in the Barahit union of the Upazila on Saturday night (November 14).
According to the police, the student turned to older brother Mahmullah’s relationship to understand the assignment the school student gave him last Wednesday. Mahmudullah said he would explain in the evening. Mahmudullah called the student’s home at night and asked her to come home with an assignment. The student arrived at Mahmudullah’s house around 8 pm. At that time, Mahmudullah, who was ambushed on the road, forcibly took her to a nearby rice field, raped her and fled.
When the incident came to light, the schoolgirl’s father complained to locals the next day. The student’s father filed a written complaint with the Ishwarganj Police Station on Saturday, as no action was taken even after three days of the complaint.
Confirming the matter, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Ishwarganj Police Station, Abdul Quader Mia, said: “I received a complaint from the victim’s family on Saturday night.” In this case legal action will be taken.
