Bhatara police arrested a man named Dewan Rasul Hridoy (25) from the area of the Bhatara police station in the capital on charges of raping several young women. A case has been filed at the Bhatara Police Station for the incident. The police have accepted the statements of four young people who were tortured in the case.
According to police, the victim went to a pool party in Gazipur on September 12 at the suggestion of his alleged Facebook girlfriend. There, serial rapist Dewan Rasul presented his heart to his Facebook girlfriend. Then on September 14, Hridoy took the two of them to his home in Bhatara. On September 17, Hridoy raped the girl. On September 20, two more women came to his home through the same accomplice. Then the heart violated them in turn.
Elin Chowdhury, Badda Area Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said in the case statement that the first applicant left his home on September 10 with his girlfriend on the Gulshan-Badda Ring Road without telling his parents that he would do anything on his own. Later, the two girlfriends decided to stay together.
Meanwhile, another girlfriend they knew through Facebook invited the second applicant to go to a pool party in Gazipur the next day, September 11. After going there, the bride introduced them both with an accused heart. It also assures them that, if necessary, the heart can arrange for them to stay.
Two days later, on September 13, the young defendant Hridoy called the two girls and asked them to stay at his home near 75 Kuril Pinnacle Pump under the Bhatara Police Station. The next day, September 14, the two brides went to the Jamuna Future Park in the capital.
Hriday then arranged for them to stay in a room on the ground floor of Bhatara’s house. Two days later, on September 17, Hridoy called him at his home on the third floor to speak with the first plaintiff in the case. At one point, he raped her out of fear. Threatened not to tell anyone about the rape.
Four days after the incident, on September 20, two applicants went into the next room. At one point in the evening conversation, the two who came later were also raped at different times with the heart. Furthermore, the second applicant has committed indecency. In such a situation, a case was brought to the Bhatara Police Station on Monday in connection with the incident of periodic rape.
Elin Chowdhury said the victims were rescued and sent to the Victim Support Center on Saturday. Hridoy was subsequently arrested at the home. A total of four people, including three rape victims and one sexual harassment victim, have testified in the incident.
He added that Hridoy was jailed for a year and a half in a case brought by his wife. At that time they were divorced. An investigation is ongoing.
