A Bangladeshi doctor has been accused of raping and harassing female patients in the name of medical treatment. A case has been registered against him in the Jilong Magistrates Court in Australia.
The doctor’s name is Shafiul Milky (58). He is a resident of Geelong, a city southwest of Melbourne. Belarin practiced medicine.
Australian news outlet ABC News reported that the doctor used to touch patients’ breasts and thighs for sexual purposes in the name of treatment. Not only that, he used to rape them.
He allegedly committed the crimes between September 2012 and February 2019.
According to court documents, Shafiul Milky touched a patient’s chest in 2012. This he does after anesthetizing the patient.
Not only that, the patient complained that the doctor had ‘taken off his underwear’ and opened it. From 2016 to 2017, he did the same with other patients.
Milky’s registration as a physician was suspended by the Medical Board of Australia in 2019. However, two months later, the Victoria Civil and Administrative Court (VCAT) conditionally allowed him to return to the medical profession.
He was practicing at Kolak Medical Center and Kolak Central Medical Center and Mount Clear Medical Center in Australia. He was also banned from having contact with female patients.
The Medical Board of Australia will now appeal the revocation of the conditional approval.
