Rape of hospitalized girl, formation of investigation committee

A teenager admitted to the Saturia Upazila Health Complex in Manikganj with fever and body aches has been accused of having been raped inside the hospital.
Nine days after the incident, hospital authorities formed a seven-member investigative committee on Saturday.

It has been reported that a child in the hospital ward committed the rape. Despite trying to cover up the incident, an investigative committee was formed after 9 days under pressure from the locals.

It was learned that the entire hospital is surrounded by closed-circuit television cameras. The victim’s family claimed that the rapist could be identified by looking at the CCTV footage of the day.

When the girl was knocked unconscious and bloody at one point, the rapist left her on the veranda of the hospital and fled. Meanwhile, the girl was referred to the 250-bed Manikganj General Hospital that same night due to excessive bleeding.

Meanwhile, the rapist’s mother could not find her daughter in bed and saw her lying on the veranda. Moving closer, he saw that she was bleeding profusely. When the rapist’s mother called the doctor-nurse at that time, the nurses saw the condition of the young woman and rushed to the doctor. Later, the doctor sent the victim to the 250-bed Manikganj General Hospital by ambulance.

The rapist’s father said, “I am a poor man and a truck driver.” My wife and I did not recognize the rapist. The women’s ward of the hospital has closed-circuit television cameras. If you see the images from that camera, you can recognize the rapist. I didn’t tell anyone about my daughter’s marriage because she was poor and I didn’t complain.

He complained that no doctors or nurses were called at that time.

Meanwhile, the 250-bed Manikganj General Hospital residential medical officer. Erfan Ansari said a teenager was admitted on September 12. The wound was repaired as he was torn with excessive bleeding from his genitals.

Ashraful Alam, UNO from Saturia, said that the rape incident of a young woman who came for treatment was disgusting and reprehensible. Authorities cannot avoid liability if such incidents occur within the hospital. The authorities should investigate the matter. He thinks that if someone is guilty, he must be handed over to the law.
