A young woman has been reported to have been raped while visiting her alleged girlfriend’s home in Chittagong. Police said the bride was on guard at the time of the incident. Police arrested three people, including his girlfriend and her husband, on charges of involvement in the incident. The incident took place at Chandu Miah’s home at No. 1 Supriwalapara of the Double Mooring Police Station on Sunday night.
The three detainees are Nuri Akhter (20) and her husband. Antar (24) and the bodyguard of the accused. Rajib (26).
Double Mooring Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Nurul Islam said: “I learned that Nuri had been cooperating with Chandu Mia in anti-social activities at different times at Chandu Mia’s four-story house.” Nuri and her husband Antar live in Kadamtali. Chandu Mia used to extort money in the area. There are four cases against her at the Double Mooring Police Station. He is the defendant in the case.
Referring to the rape victim, SI Nurul Islam said: “The girl is in her 20s. A week ago, she came from Feni to visit her uncle’s house in Agrabad. Nuri, her cousin’s girlfriend, was arrested. Because of that, the young woman also had a friendly relationship with Nuri. Nuri took the girl home on Sunday night. Between 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm, Nuri managed to take him to Chandur’s house. The electrical connection inside the house was cut. Nuri was watching the door from outside. Chandu raped the girl. After the incident, Nuri took the girl to her uncle’s house. But when the people of the house asked the girl about the devastation, she said everything openly. He was then taken to the One Stop Crisis Center Hospital at Chittagong Medical College (CMC). From there the double mooring station was informed.
SI Nurul Islam further said that after receiving the news, they raided the port area and arrested Nuri. Swami Antar was arrested for taking his mobile phone to Nuri. They were married four days ago. However, Md. Antar told the police that he knew nothing about the incident.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Double Mooring Police Station Sudip Das said the girl’s mother had filed a case against the four defendants. After that, the accused bodyguard from Chandur, Md., Carried out a raid on No. 1 Supariwalapara. Rajiv was arrested.
SI Nurul Islam said that an operation was underway to arrest the main defendant Chandu.
