An 18-year-old girl has been sexually abused. The heretical father raped her for two months in a row. Such shocking accusations have been received from Baraigram in Natore. The girl’s mother filed a case against the defendant Shariful Islam at the Baraigram police station on Tuesday morning. Shariful Islam is the son of Basharat Mandal from the Goalfa area of the Baraigram municipality of upazila.
It is known that when Shariful Islam became a monk of the fakir sect, his wife Rekha left him two years ago and married elsewhere. Seven days before Eid-ul-Adha, Shariful took the girl to her home in Baraigram by various means, forcibly detained her and raped her.
The girl said she was raped last Sunday night. She has been regularly raped for the past two months. The girl reported the incident to her grandfather Basharat Ali and her grandmother, but to no avail. Instead, she became more helpless and was sexually abused at different times, as well as physically. The members of this family did not even let anyone meet or speak to them when they arrived at the house. Afterwards, the girl told her grandmother about the incident, the mother and grandmother of the girl arrived last Monday and rescued the girl and presented a case to the police.
The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Baraigram Police Station, Dilip Kumar Das, said that the girl’s mother had filed a case with the police station. The accused father is a fugitive. The police are trying to arrest him.
