A 25-year-old housewife, mother of two, has been charged with raping Shahidul Hasan Hiron, 30, in Nalchiti, Jhalokati. The locals arrested the young man and handed him over to the police.
The incident took place in the Kathipara village of upazila on Saturday night. The housewife filed a lawsuit against the young man at the Nalchiti Police Station at night.
It has been reported that the housewife was beaten by in-laws and sent to her father’s house.
According to the police and the victim’s family, Hiran entered the house from the roof of the house behind the housewife’s house in Kathipara village on Saturday night. He enters the housewife’s room and rapes her. At that moment, hearing his screams, the family and people in the area arrived and arrested the rapist. He was beaten and handed over to the police.
The housewife was beaten with various slander by the in-laws. The locals even took obscene photos of the rapist and the housewife and posted them on Facebook. The housewife was sent to her father’s house shortly after the incident.
The housewife complained that her husband worked in Dhaka. After learning of the rape, he announced that he would be breaking off his relationship with me. His family kicked me out of the house. They tortured me and beat them again.
Nalchiti Police Station OC Abdul Halim Talukder said the housewife had filed a rape case. The defendant has also been arrested. I heard that the in-laws had sent the housewife to her father’s house. Action will be taken if any complaints are received in this regard.
