In Sherpur, her brother-in-law videotaped the scene of the rape raping his 20-year-old sister-in-law on a Dhaka bus. The incident took place on Sunday morning at the home of the defendant Dulabhai in Rajballavpur Mahalla in the city of Sherpur.
Police arrested the defendant Dulabhai Munna Khan on Monday after two separate cases were filed under the Rape and Pornography Act at Sherpur Sadar Police Station.
The arrested Munna Khan is the son of Abdus Chhamad Khan from Sapmari village in Sherpur Sadar upazila.
Sherpur Sadar Police Station Inspector (investigation) Monirul Alam Bhuiyan said the sister-in-law was brought to Sherpur from Faridpur a few days ago to take care of her pregnant older sister. Shalikar was supposed to go to Dhaka on Sunday after giving birth to her older sister on October 8. Dulabhai Munna Khan took her home to Rajballavpur Mahalla in Sherpur Town on Sunday morning to pick her up from a bus in Dhaka and raped and videotaped her the scene of the rape.
He said the medical examination of the raped sister-in-law was completed on Monday at Sherpur District Sadar Hospital. The victim’s statement has been accepted in court.
The investigating officer in the case handed over the arrested Dulabhai Munna Khan to the court on Monday afternoon seeking a five-day pre-trial detention for questioning.
