Police arrested Mostafizur Rahman Badal, 48, the president of Laxmipur Union Parishad in Gaibandha Sadar, for fear of posting a video of the rape. He was arrested Tuesday night at his home.

He later raped the woman more than once, threatening to make the video of the rape viral. The last time Badal went to the victim’s home on November 11 and raped her in the absence of her husband, President Badal fled.
Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Mojibur Rahman said the victim underwent a medical examination on Wednesday.
It is worth mentioning that President Mostafizur Rahman Badal is the acting director of the local Lengabazar girls’ school. He was jailed for a long time in 2016 for raping a student at that school. He was subsequently released on bail and released on bail.
