Rangpur District BCL President Mehedi Hasan Siddiqui Rony has been acquitted of a case of rape for the purpose of marrying a school teacher in Rangpur. This information was given in a press release from the party on Monday night.
At the beginning of October 10, BCL Central President Al Nahyan Khan Joy and Editorial Secretary-General Bhattacharya signed a press release stating that BCL Rangpur District President Mehedi Hasan Siddiqui Rony was released for engaging in activities contrary to the organization’s policy, rules, and discipline. Sumon Sarkar, Vice President of the BCL District, was also served as Acting President of the Rangpur BCL District.
On September 5, a school teacher filed a lawsuit against Rangpur District Chhatra League President Mehedi Hasan Siddiqui Rony at the Kotwali Police Station on charges of multiple marriages, rape and abuse of women. The school teacher, the main defendant in the case, alleged that she was raped for a long time while performing a false marriage drama due to a love story. She was also taken several times to different parts of India for allegedly raping her. The schoolmaster protested in various ways in Rangpur and Dhaka demanding justice. However, the police were unable to arrest Mehedi Hasan Siddiqui Rony.
