The Narcotics Control Department arrested Nuruzzaman, executive director of the Rajshahi District Council, along with Phensidyl.
The other detainee is Sajid from the Kansat Bishwanathpur area of Chapainawabganj. He is an employee of a pharmacy in Rajshahi.
Saifur Rahman, inspector of the local drug control department, told the media at night: “The operation was carried out in the Tolghar area as part of the anti-drug campaign. At that time a search was carried out on a Pajero jeep of the Rajshahi District Council. They were detained with five bottles of Coca-Cola in a bag inside the vehicle along with loose phencidyl. They were later taken to the Chapainawabganj Circuit House to confirm their identities, for which the necessary legal action will be taken in this case.
Jafrullah Kajal said that the detainees are currently in the custody of the administration at Chapainawabganj Circuit House.
