RAB will present the charge sheet for the murder case of Army Major (Retired) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan to the court. The case, which has been under investigation for more than four months, is expected to be reported to the Cox’s Bazar court on Sunday.
So far, the RAB has found evidence of the involvement of 15 people in the murder investigation. Of these, 14 are currently in jail after being detained by the RAB.
Several judicial sources have confirmed this information to the Dhaka Times.
According to the RAB, the charge sheet for the case has already been prepared. It will be delivered to the court at any time.
According to reliable sources, former Teknaf Police Officer Pradeep Kumar, Baharchhara Liakat Ali Camp Inspector SI Nandadulal Rakshit, some police officers from Teknaf Police Station in addition to three members of the APBN-Armed Police Battalion and three locals have been arrested in the case. No information was available on the other.
On July 3, Major (Retired) Sinha Mohammad Rashed arrived at the Nilima Resort in Cox’s Bazar with three associates to film a documentary about a travel show on a YouTube channel called ‘Just Go’. The news reached Pradeep Kumar, the then OC of Teknaf.
Since then, OC Pradeep has told police subordinates: “The video party has to be removed from here, at any cost.” Since then, Sinha has been under the surveillance of Inspector Liaquat and SI Nandadulal.
OC Pradeep was informed after a law enforcement ‘tree planting’ ceremony on the morning of July 31 that Major Sinha Rashed had gone to the Shamlapur Hills in Teknaf in a private car. At the time, the inspector in charge of the Baharchhara camp, Liaquat Ali Sinha, was keeping an eye on the source.

On August 5, Sinha’s sister, Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, filed a murder case against nine people, including the former Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das police station.
The main defendant in the case is Liakat Ali, the inspector in charge of the Baharchhara police post, who shot Sinha. Teknaf OC Police Station (fired) Pradeep Kumar Das has been named second defendant.
Liaquat had consulted with him by phone prior to the shooting, according to the statement. Liaquat shot Sinha in the head with a cool head at the instigation and direction of the OC. It is alleged in the case that Pradeep later went to the scene and tried to distort Sinha by “hitting him in the face and various parts of the body with his shoes.”
The third defendant in the case is Teknaf SI Police Station Dulal Rakshit, who filed a case under the Narcotics and Weapons Act after Sinha’s death. The seven accused police officers then surrendered to court. In the course of the investigation, RAB arrested 14 people, including APBN and Pradeep’s bodyguard, in addition to three locals in the murder case.
