R. Kidnapping case against Keraniganj OC-two inspectors

A case has been registered against seven people, including the OC and two inspectors from the South Keraniganj Police Station in Dhaka, for abducting a woman.

A Keraniganj woman presented the case in the court of Judge Tabasum Islam of Dhaka’s No. 4 Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children Court in Dhaka on Wednesday. Work in a salon.

The court took the plaintiff’s statement and ordered the police to investigate and submit a report.

The Special Prosecutor for Women and Child Abuse Court-4 Mohammad Forkan Mia confirmed the matter to Jugantar.

The defendants in the case are: Iqbal Hossain (55), President of the Shubhadhya Union of Keraniganj, Tuhin Reza (40), Managing Director of First Finance Limited, Rahat aka Dakat Rahat (35), GM Sarwar (55), South Keraniganj Police Station Inspector (Hossain), Nir Inspector (investigation) Ashiquzzaman and Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Zaman. Four or five more people have been named as unidentified defendants in the case.

In the case it is alleged that the author in this case is also the plaintiff in a gang rape case brought to the Dakshin Keraniganj police station. The case is currently ongoing. Police arrested a man named Iqbal Hossain in the case. The other defendants in the case are walking around and threatening the help of the police.

The applicant alleged that on 21 July he was threatened with death at gunpoint and his two sons were locked in a room and a ransom of 200,000 taka was demanded. Despite paying 10,000 taka, he was kidnapped and taken first to the Iqbal president’s office in Telghat and then in a car and locked in a room on the seventh floor of the Simon Skyview tower in Vijayanagar, Paltan for three hours.

There, some people, including the president of Iqbal, GM Sarwar and Tuhin Reza, forcibly recorded what they had taught. He then threatened to drop the rape case.

The plaintiff in the case alleged that on July 23, Rahat Dakat kidnapped him again on the instructions of the President of Iqbal, Tuhin Reza and GM Sarwar, and the three defendants in the case were briefed on the matter. The police said to go with them without security.

They then sat in a room on the seventh floor of Nazrul Islam Sarani’s Akram Tower elevator. He was later taken to a liquor bar in the Ramna Thana area. At that time, Iqbal President Tuhin Reza and GM Sarwar went to court on July 26 and pressured them to testify under section 22. Otherwise he will be hanged in a bogus case involving illegal drugs. They and three police officers were paroled under Section 22.

It is alleged that on July 26, the investigating officer of the Shahadat Hossain case came to the house and handed over the relief to four or five unidentified people, including the thief, and said: ‘I will take it to court.’ He shouldn’t be able to escape. Then he took me to court under strict security and signed seven or eight papers.

The victim said that the investigating officer for the case, Shahadat Hossain, came to court around 12 noon and told me: ‘If you do a trick, you will lose your two daughters for life.’ I will kill your daughters with the president of Iqbal. Helplessly I tell the court what I taught them. Then the case investigation officer took me to the Gandaria outpost and sent me home with some signed papers.
