The municipality of Basurhat has declared three days of mourning for the death of lawyer Moudud Ahmed, Noakhali’s son and member of the BNP Standing Committee. Basurhat Municipality Mayor Abdul Quader declared three days of mourning for Mirza Moudud’s death on Wednesday (March 18) at 9pm.
Quader Mirza mentioned on his Facebook status: “We are deeply saddened by the death of lawyer Moudud Ahmed, Kompaniganj’s son.” Three days of mourning were declared for his death.
All Basurhat Bazar merchants were specially requested to raise the black flag next Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On this occasion, the match flag will be hoisted at half mast and the black flag will be raised.
It is known that the body of lawyer Moudud Ahmed will arrive in the country on Thursday evening. His first janaza will be held in the Supreme Court at 10 a.m. on Friday. The body will be brought to Noakhali after the second janaza in front of the BNP headquarters in Naya Paltan at 11 am. After the janaza on the grounds of Companiganj College, the veteran politician will rest with his parents at the family cemetery in the village of Manikpur.
The veteran politician breathed his last at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore at 6:30 p.m. Bangladesh time on Tuesday (March 17). He was 61 years old at the time of his death.
