The government has decided to increase fares by 60 percent on public transport, as it takes half its capacity to prevent the increase in infection by the new coronavirus. The decision will take effect from Wednesday and will remain in effect for the next two weeks.

The Secretary General of the Awami League and the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, told reporters on Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, the Chief Secretary. In a circular signed by Ahmed Kaikaus, 18-point directives were issued to avoid the crown. As the transmission of the crown increased day by day, instructions were issued to carry half the capacity of public transport.

What is stated in the notice is given below:

In the current situation of coronavirus infection (Covid-19), the government has made the following decisions:

A) All types of public gatherings (social, political, religious and others) should be restricted. All kinds of public gatherings are prohibited in highly infected areas. Public gatherings on the occasion of any social function, including marriage, birthdays, should be discouraged;

B) Ensure adequate hygiene in all religious places of worship, including mosques;

C) Public gatherings in tourist / entertainment centers / movie theaters / theaters should be restricted and all kinds of fairs should be discouraged;

D) Public transport must comply with hygiene standards and cannot carry more than 50 percent of its load capacity;

E) Traffic between districts should be limited to areas of high risk of infection; It should be kept off if necessary;

F) Passengers arriving from abroad must guarantee institutional quarantine for 14 days (at the hotel’s expense);

G) Arrangements should be made for the sale and purchase of basic necessities in open / open spaces in accordance with hygiene rules; Pharmacies must ensure proper hygiene;

H) Ensure adequate hygiene, including the use of masks in health institutions;

I) Ensure proper hygiene of both buyers and sellers in shopping centers;

J) All educational institutions (pre-primary, primary, madrassa, secondary, upper secondary, university) and training centers will be closed;

K) Unnecessary wandering / talking should stop. It is necessary to control the exits after 22:00 without emergency;

L) Ensure compliance with all types of hygiene, including the use of a mask when leaving if necessary; Legal action must be taken if the mask is not used or hygiene is violated;

M) Isolation of corona / coronary symptoms should be ensured. Others who come into close contact with a person infected with corona must also ensure quarantine.

6) All governmental and non-governmental industrial offices / institutions / factories, except those dedicated to emergency services, must be managed by 50 percent of the workforce. Arrangements should be made to stay at the home of the pregnant / sick / 55-year-old staff member / employee and take action;

O) Meetings, seminars, trainings and workshops should be organized online as much as possible;

T) ensure proper hygiene in the event of any type of public examination that requires personal appearance;

) Hotels and restaurants should be prohibited from accessing more than 50 percent of their capacity;

D) At the time of entry and stay in the workplace, it is mandatory to wear a mask and ensure compliance with other hygiene standards.

The notification further stated that the above decisions would take effect nationwide immediately and would remain in effect for the next two weeks until further notice. The ministry / division / department / agency in question will take the necessary steps to implement the decisions.
