Dhaka: Demonstrations and protest processions have been held across the country at the intersection of five roads in the city of Kushtia to protest the vandalism of the sculpture of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The protest was called by various political and social organizations across the country on Saturday (December 5).

Sylhet
As part of the central program to protest the vandalism of the Bangabandhu sculpture, the Juba League of Sylhet District held a protest procession in front of the Sylhet District Council at 9 pm today. The procession ended by going through the main streets of the city.

Sylhet District Juba League President Shamim Ahmed, Vice President, and Secretary General Md. Shamim Ahmed, led the protest procession. At that time Juba League leaders and activists were present.

Baurishal
Processions and protest rallies have been held in Barisal to protest the demolition of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman sculpture.

That night, a procession left Sohail Square and circled the main avenues of the city. Leaders and activists from allied organizations, including the metropolitan and district Awami League, the Chhatra League, the Juba League and the Swechchhasebak League participated in the procession.

At the end of the procession, a demonstration was held in front of the Awami League party office in Barisal district.

The city’s mayor and general secretary of the Nagar Awami League, Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah, and the president of the Mahanagar Awami AK League, Jahangir Hossain, addressed the meeting.

Dhaka
The Krishak League and the Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League have organized demonstrations and protests in the capital against the vandalism of the sculpture under construction by Bangabandhu.

In the evening, a protest procession led by the president of the Krishak League, Krishibid Samir Chand, was held to protest the vandalism of the Bangabandhu sculpture.
The procession started at the National Press Club and ended at the Awami League office on Bangabandhu Avenue.

On the other hand, Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and Secretary General S. An immediate protest procession led by A. Mannan Kachi took place from Dhanmondi at 7.30pm.

The Savar Ashulia Thana Juba League has organized a protest procession against the vandalism of the sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Juba League leaders brought out the protest procession in the Bypil area of ​​Ashulia at 9pm. The protest procession passed the Nabinagar-Chandra highway, turned from Thana Stan to Bypass, and ended with a demonstration.

JU Chhatra League torchlight procession

The Chhatra League of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has organized a torchlight procession to protest the demolition of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman sculpture and demand the immediate arrest of those involved.

The protest procession started from the university’s transportation facilities around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Then the procession passed through the main gate of the university and reached the main gate of the Dhaka-Aricha road and ended with a small demonstration.

M Mainul Islam Rajan, Pankaj Debnath, Affan Hossain Apan, Azizur Rahman Lilu, Aklima Akhter Esha, Akhtaruzzaman Sohel, Soumik, Ismail Hossain, Saiful Islam, Ahmed Arif and others were present at the time.

Demonstrations and rallies have been held in Chapainawabganj in connection with the demolition of the Bangabandhu sculpture.

The protest procession and rally took place at 9 pm under the leadership of Alamgir Kabir Yusuf, vice president of the Chhatra League of Chapainawabganj district.

The protesters marched around the main street of the city and gathered in front of the Clubsuper Market square.

Chapainawabganj District BCL Co-Chair Alamgir Kabir Yusuf, District BCL Co-Chair Himel, District BCL Deputy Secretary Rejan, and BCL Leader Kallol spoke at the rally.

In Noakhali, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote conducted a human chain program to protest against the construction of the sculpture of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and its vandalism.

A one-hour human chain program was held at the district’s Shaheed Minar central facility at 4 pm with the participation of leaders from various cultural organizations, poets, artists and cultural activists.

Moazzem Hossain Arman, Secretary General of the Noakhali National Poetry Council, Bimelendu Majumder, President of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, and Emdad Hossain Kaishor, Secretary General, and leaders of various cultural organizations addressed the protest rally.
