Coronavirus vaccines are being developed in many parts of the world. Researchers from Oxford University in the UK have come a long way in vaccine development. The vaccine was administered to two volunteers on Thursday (April 23). As part of the study, the test will be performed on the bodies of more than 800 people in phases. Scientists hope that if the ‘final test’ is successful, the antidote will be available by September. However, the Indian Serum Institute will start producing the vaccine in May before the results of the human test are known.

According to a report in the German media Deutsche Welle, the Pune-based Indian Whey Institute has decided not to wait until the Oxford vaccination test is successful. Preparations will take place before that. Serum has agreements with the Oxford consortium that is inventing the vaccine.

According to the BBC, there are now six companies working in India to develop a vaccine against the Covid-19 virus. One of them is Serum Institute of India. The company is 53 years old, manufacturing 1.5 billion vaccines each year. Its main factory is in Pune, India, but there are two smaller plants in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

Adar Punawala, CEO of the Siram Institute, said: “We will not wait any longer. We will be vaccinating hundreds of patients starting in May. If the test is successful, the vaccine will be launched on the market from September to October.

Punawala also said in advance how many vaccines will be produced and what the price will be. He said: ‘The price of the ticker in India will be one thousand rupees. Meanwhile, our costs are also included. It has also been taken into account so that people can buy vaccines. However, the price may be higher abroad. The MMR vaccine is ten times more expensive in the UK than in India.

The coronavirus vaccine is expected to be available in September or October, although production will begin in May.

Punawala made it clear: ‘We will not wait until September. Once all vaccine applications are successful in September, production will be delayed. We are prepared in advance at our own risk and expense. So that once the test is successful, a large number of vaccines will be launched on the market starting in September.

First, the Whey Institute wants to produce between 40 and 50 lakh of vaccines. After six months, the number will reach one crore. If the test is successful, they will see that there is no shortage of vaccines in the world. The vaccine will be manufactured at the Pune factory. For that, only the corona vaccine will be made by stopping the production of all other vaccines. The company has also invested কোটি 150 million for this

Recently, the United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, said that India and the United States were working together to develop a corona vaccine. Hyderabad India Biotech has signed agreements with Wisconsin Madison University and Flugen in the United States. If the test is successful, they will provide 300 million vaccines worldwide.

Furthermore, India is one of the world’s largest producers of generic drugs and vaccines. Polio, meningitis, pneumonia, rotavirus, BCG, measles, mumps, rubella – many vaccines, large and small, are made in India.

However, many experts believe that the coronavirus vaccine will not be available on the market very soon. They say there is no guarantee that the vaccine will be successful.
