Prime Minister to inaugurate ‘Dhrubatara’ on Sunday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the new first Dash 8-400 ‘Dhrubatara’ aircraft with the latest technology added to the Biman Bangladesh Airlines fleet.

The opening ceremony will take place at 11 am on Sunday at the VVIP terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport via video conference. The Prime Minister will attend the function via video conference from Ganobhaban.

It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has named all the aircraft that have already been added to the aircraft fleet. ‘Dhruvatara’ is the first of 3 Dash 8-400 aircraft purchased on a G2G basis between the Government of Bangladesh and Canada. Built by renowned Canadian aircraft manufacturer De Havilland, the 74-seat Dash 8-400 is eco-friendly with state-of-the-art facilities.

With the incorporation of the new aircraft, the total number of existing aircraft in the fleet is 19. Of these, 4 are Boeing: -300ER, four are Boeing 6-7, two are Boeing 8-9, six are Boeing 737 and three They are Dash 8-400 aircraft.
