Prime Minister inaugurated new Biman ‘Dhrubatara’ aircraft

Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the new ‘Dhrubatara’ aircraft of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The number of aircraft in the fleet is 19.

On Sunday morning (December 26), the Prime Minister unveiled the new Polar Star Dash 8-400 with state-of-the-art technology.

The Prime Minister joined the inaugural function held at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport VVIP terminal via video conference from Ganobhaban.

Built by renowned Canadian manufacturer De Havilland, the 64-seater Dash 8-400 is environmentally friendly with state-of-the-art facilities. The aircraft’s EEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter technology allows bacteria to be found in just 4 minutes., Completely purifies the air inside the aircraft by destroying viruses and other germs, which will make passengers fresher and safer. There is also ample legroom on this aircraft., LED lighting and large windows, which will make the trip more comfortable.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina named all the aircraft that have already been added to the aircraft fleet, including Dhruvatara.

When the new Dash 8-400 aircraft with the latest technology arrived in Dhaka on November 24, the senior officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines accepted it.

Of the three aircraft purchased on a G2G basis between the Government of Bangladesh and the Government of Canada, the second and third Dash 8-400 aircraft will be added to the fleet in January and February, respectively. The weekly frequency of flights to national and regional and international short-haul destinations will increase with the addition of new aircraft to the fleet.

Apart from the Dhrubatara plane, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a video conference from Ganobhaban at 20 newly built fire stations in different parts of the country., Inaugurated seven newly built Regional Passport Offices at the district headquarters, the Central Women’s Jail in Keraniganj and an LPG station.
