Government elementary school teacher transfers have been halted due to the epidemic coronavirus infection.

On Sunday (October 25), the Department of Primary Education sent a letter to the Deputy Directors of Division of the Department of Primary Education telling them to stop the transfer of teachers.

However, transfers of teachers from public secondary schools and universities and of secondary education officials from upazila continue.

The order, signed by Khaled Ahmed, director (policy and operations) of the Department of Primary Education, said that elementary schools across the country were closed due to the coronavirus infection. In this situation, it would be wise to stop all kinds of teacher transfer activities.

Meanwhile, the admission process for government elementary school teachers has been on hold for the past two years. Preparations are underway to hire teachers online. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has reported that the transfer of teachers will be modernized as of next year.
