Dhaka: Outstanding female leader, president of the Women’s Council and heroic freedom fighter for the death of Ayesha Khanam, the president expressed her deep sorrow. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The president and prime minister expressed their condolences in separate messages on Saturday (January 2).
According to Bangabhaban Press Wing, in the message of condolence, the president said that Ayesha Khanam was a courageous fighter in the movement for the establishment of women’s rights. She has played a very commendable role in the empowerment of women in the country.
The President prayed for the forgiveness of Ayesha Khanam’s soul and extended his condolences to her grieving family.
According to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, in his message of condolence, Sheikh Hasina said that the country’s women’s society lost a genuine friend and a courageous companion in the death of this leader.
The Prime Minister prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the grieving relatives.
Earlier on Saturday (January 2) morning, Ayesha Khanam breathed her last. This information was given to banglanews by the Secretary General of Bangladesh, Mahila Parishad Maleka Banu.
Maleka Banu said that Ayesha Khanam, Bangladeshi President Mahila Parishad, had been ill for a long time. He suffered from lung cancer. His physical condition deteriorated on Friday night (January 1) and he took his last breath on Saturday morning.
He further said that the body of Ayesha Khanam will be brought to the Bangladeshi Mahila Parishad headquarters in Secon Bagicha in the capital at 9 am to pay tribute. From there, he will be buried next to the grave of engineer Mortuza Hasan’s late husband in his village family cemetery in Netrokona.

It is worth mentioning that Ayesha Khanam was an active organizer of all progressive movements, including the student movement of 1962, the mass uprising of 1971, and the great war of liberation. At the end of her student life, she dedicated herself to the rights of marginalized women. Upon her death, the women’s movement in Bangladesh lost a true guardian.
