Mikha Peregu, chairman of the 44th batch marketing department and chairman of the student union at Jahangirnagar University (JU), has been expelled from the university for forging signatures and stamps.
Deepak Sheel, general secretary of the student union central committee, confirmed the information on Tuesday.
The notification of the expulsion recently reached the media. Previously, the expulsion order was issued on December 13, 2020.
Rahima Kaniz, the university’s acting registrar, said in a statement that she received the punishment after reviewing the departmental president’s signature on the special examination request and the report of the investigation committee on stamp counterfeiting.
Mikha Peregu was expelled from the university for good, according to the statement.
“I submitted a photocopy, so the department is making a claim,” said Mikha Peregu. And the union has decided in light of that statement. I have appealed the review against you.
Deepak Shil, general secretary of the central committee of the student union, said that the student union never tolerates immoral activities. It is a pity that such accusations have been made against him. We will immediately discuss the allegations at the central meeting. Our investigation will ensure the maximum organizational punishment if the allegations are proven.
