Hane Mann, a 9th-class student at the Panchagarh government girls’ high school, is the president of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila Parishad. As part of the empowerment of women, the schoolgirl took power from Panchagarh Sadar Upazila Parishad’s president, Amirul Islam, for an hour on Tuesday (October 27) from 10 am to 11 am at the initiative of the NGO Plan International and National Children’s Transformation.

At this time the activities of the entire Upazila Parishad were carried out under his direction. The teenage president made several recommendations to make 10 unions and 1 municipality of Sadar upazila friendly to women and to prevent child marriage and violence against women.

The president of Upazila Parishad also assured to implement his recommendations.

Hashne Hena Mann, a schoolgirl who was overwhelmed by the opportunity to serve as Upazila’s president for an hour, said the initiative would encourage women’s empowerment at various levels, including local government. Women should be considered human beings, not just women. Only then will equal rights be guaranteed in all areas of society.

Panchagarh Sadar Upazila President Amirul Islam said that the current government believes in the empowerment of women. Our Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, Spokesperson is a woman. In addition, women advance in all areas of society. This initiative aims to further strengthen the empowerment of women in local government. During her one-hour tenure, the schoolgirl made recommendations on various topics, including women’s empowerment, violence against women, child marriage, and teasing. He claimed to implement the recommendations on behalf of Upazila Parishad.
