In Bhola Sadar Upazila, his wife Ruby Begum cut off her husband’s penis with a blade. The incident took place in the Sachia village of the Alinagar union in upazila on Monday. The injured Rubel Mizhi was admitted first to Bhola and then to Barisal Medical College. When his condition deteriorated there, he was sent to Dhaka at night for better treatment.
Police arrested his wife Ruby Begum in the incident. The couple were married two years ago, police said. Ruby Begum is currently pregnant. On the other hand, the condition of the injured ruble is critical.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Bhola Sadar Model Police Station, Arman Hossain, visited the scene and said: This afternoon, when a fight broke out between them, the wife cut off her husband’s penis with a blade. The locals rescued him and took him to the hospital.
He said that Rubel Mizhi worked as a van driver in Dhaka and his wife was a garment worker. They were married two years ago. After the marriage, the wife lived in her village house in Alinagar. They had been married before. Ruby Begum has a son and a daughter in the previous family.
The OC further said: “Seven days ago, Rubel Mizhi arrived at the village house from Dhaka. Ruby Begum told police during preliminary questioning that his wife became angry after learning about the matter on her mobile phone. Even then, the police are investigating the whole thing. Preparations are under way to present a case in this regard.
