President. Abdul Hamid said, the party is larger than the individual, the country is larger than the party, this is the main ideology of politics. But today politics seems to be moving in the opposite direction. The president urged politicians to return to the ideals of Bangabandhu and dedicate themselves to the work of the country.

He made the call at a ten-day function organized in the National Parade Square on Wednesday afternoon to mark the centennial of the birth of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of Independence.

Expressing his frustration at the course of politics in Bangladesh, the president said: “Today we are celebrating 50 years of independence. There have been many ups and downs in politics at this time. But we have to think about how much qualitative change there has been in politics.

Speaking as the main guest of the event, Abdul Hamid said that some opportunists have made politics their profession. Politics and profession are not one. Through occupation, a person earns his living and that of his family. And politics is a great field to work for the welfare of the country and the people. So if you think of politics as a profession, you must forget about the country and the people and move within the confines of yourself and your family.

The president said, “On this day of the 101st anniversary of Bangabandhu’s birth, I will ask politicians to learn from Bangabandhu’s lifestyle and actions and dedicate themselves to the service of their country and people.”

The theme of the introductory day is: “The broken door has arrived, Jyotirmoy.” The program began at 4:30 pm in the Plaza del Parade Nacional with the interpretation of the national anthem by the children. Popular actor, former minister and deputy Asaduzzaman Unur is directing the show.

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohammed Salih addressed the function as a special guest under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hasina. The president of Maldives was accompanied by his wife Fazna Ahmed. They were received at the scene by President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

National Professor Rafiqul Islam, Chairman of the National Implementation Committee, is present on the occasion to commemorate the centenary of the birth of the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangabandhu’s daughter, Sheikh Rehana, the wife of President Rashida Khanam, and President Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

Cabinet members and leaders of the Awami League are present on the occasion. National dignitaries also participated in the event.

The video message was received by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga. On the first day of the colorful event, the President requested the preservation of the memory and memorials of the Father of the Nation.
