Chittagong: The city’s detective police arrested a police officer named Swarup Barua while selling weapons at the Adar Residential hotel in the Cinema Palace area of ​​the Kotwali Police Station.

Swarup was arrested on Friday (December 25) evening with a revolver and kept in the city detective police office. After filing a case under the Gun Law with the Kotwali Police Station, he was sent to Chittagong Central Jail on Saturday night.

According to the police, on the basis of secret information, the city’s detective police officers came to know that a man was waiting to sell weapons at the Adar residential hotel in the Cinema Palace area. Later, Swarup Barua was arrested in a raid there. They recovered a revolver from him.

Kotwali Police Officer in Charge (CO), Mohammad Mohsin, confirmed the matter to banglanews. He told banglanews that a case has been filed against a person named Swarup Barua at the DB police station.

City Detective Police Deputy Commissioner (South) Muhammad Ali Hossain told banglanews that he had identified himself as an agent of the Chittagong Industrial Police after arresting a man named Swarup Barua with a weapon. We have sent a letter to the industrial police to verify the information provided by him.

Police officer Muhammad Ali Hossain said that the industrial police had not yet confirmed the identity of Swarup Barua. He has been sent to jail after a case was brought against Swarup Barua.

Jasim Uddin, deputy superintendent of police (intelligence and media) of the Chittagong Industrial Police, told banglanews that Barua’s suspension process was underway.
