In Rangpur, the mother of one was arrested by locals for participating in antisocial activities with a housewife (23) and handed over to the police. The incident took place in the Amashu Kukrul Purba Para area of the city on Saturday morning.
Defendant Liton’s home is in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur. He is said to work at the Ashulia Industrial Police Station in Dhaka.
The locals said the housewife was a known former member of the police force, Liton. Because of this, Liton got into an affair with him. On Friday night, the woman’s husband went to visit a relative with their only daughter. The mother-in-law and the housewife were at home. Realizing the opportunity, Police Liton entered the home sometime on Friday night and left around 8 a.m. after spending the night, seen by a couple of neighbors. At that time, the couple arrested him and informed the other neighbors. Later the neighbors got together and got excited. Haradhan Roy Hara, 4th district councilor and Parashuram police arrived at the scene and controlled the situation.

Parashuram SI Altab Hossain police, who were present at the scene, told reporters that the situation was on the verge of getting out of control when locals became agitated. The accused police officer has been arrested with the help of the councilor. He is being interrogated.
