Police arrested 19-year-old Ejazul Haque for allegedly raping a student at the madrasa in Ishwarganj of Mymensingh.
The incident took place at midnight on Tuesday (September 15) at the Upazila Union of Rajibpur. The girl’s father filed a rape case with the Ishwarganj Police Station on Wednesday (September 18) at noon.
Son of Azizul Haque from the village of Raghunathpur at the Barahit junction of Ejazul upazila. He currently works as a police officer at the Pubail Police Station in Gazipur.
According to law enforcement sources, police officer Ejazul met the student on Facebook about a year and a half ago. A love story developed between them. Ejazul raped the madrasa student more than once with the promise of marriage.
Recently, Ejazul returned home on leave. On this occasion, Ejazul called the student on her mobile phone Tuesday night. He raped her in a bush next to her house.
The locals captured Ejazul. After informing the police, they arrested Ejazul around 2 in the afternoon, rescued the raped girl and took her to the police station.
Ishwarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mokhlesur Rahman said Ejazul was sent to jail through court at noon after a case was filed in the incident. The student will be sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for a medical examination.
